Nowadays advertising is extremely developed. There are many different types of advertising. Every corporation has a brand and every brand strive to be the best in its-own field. There is a competition for customers between different brands. Each corporation wants to sale as much as it can. So how is it possible to attract customer's attention in a such variety of goods? The answer is very simple from one point of view and at the same time is extremely difficult. Advertising. But here comes another problem. If every good, brand and corporation have its-own advertising company, that means that there are a lot of different types of advertising. But which method of advertising is the most effective?
In a modern world with the development of the internet the contextual advertising became extremely popular. But what exactly contextual advertising is? "Contextual advertising is a form of targeted advertising for advertisements appearing on websites or other media, such as content displayed in mobile browsers. The advertisements themselves are selected and served by automated systems based on the identity of the user and the content displayed.

That means, that you are offered you read about. Sounds convenient both for customers and sellers. On the one hand, customer don't need to surf the internet and spend a lot of time searching for goods that they want. On the other hand, sellers don't need to look for customers, because as it was said it is all done by automated systems (Contextual advertising., 2018).

Contextual advertising based on user's location

In modern world we go almost everywhere with our phones. Your phone sends a lot of data even when you are not using it. All smartphones are "powerful medium for location targeting (Tah, 2015)". So, what your location can say about you? The answer is: almost everything. There are two different ways of location targeting: "based on where users are in the real world (Tah, 2015)" and "Crafting audiences based on the history of real world places visited by users (Tah, 2015)". With this information gives an understanding of your behavior in everyday life, your habits and interests. For example, you visit bowling every Friday. With the information of your location companies can find out about your interests (in this example it is bowling) and then make a contextual offer to you.
